Description
The set is intended for determining the true and apparent density, porosity and water absorption of crushed stone, gravel and sand by hydrostatic weighing and pycnometer methods.
It comprises a stainless steel wire basket, a suspension hanger for laboratory balances, a tank for saturating samples with water, 500 and 1000 mL pycnometers, and a cone with a tamper for determining the saturated surface-dry condition of sand.
All items are housed in a carrying case; the set is compatible with any balance equipped with an under-pan weighing hook.
